What's going on at the racecourse...

With May upon us and the Summer months nearly here (apparently) racing slows down at Wolverhampton so we can let the jumps courses get in on the action! Fear not, we do still have racing on, just not as much -

The lull in fixtures gives us a good chance to prepare for our fantastic events that take place during the Summer Months.

On Saturday 5th May & Saturday 30th June, Arabian Racing returns to the Racecourse. Racegoers will be able to see some of the best racehorses in training start their season's campaign. The feature race, The Emirates Equestrian Federation Stakes, offers a total prize fund of £3,000. Even better, the fixture on Saturday 5th May is totally FREE of charge for Adults and Children, what more can you ask for!

The 19th and 20th May sees an Elite Show Jumping Festival return to us. After the success of the event in 2011, the festival is back and will be bigger than ever! This event will incorporate one of only four international trials in the UK this year, as well as Scope Qualifiers, Young Horse Championships and other elite category classes. Spectators for this fantastic weekend of show jumping are admitted totally FREE of charge into the racecourse. If you haven't experienced show jumping before, pop along for a great family day out!

The day all little kids and big kids are waiting for, Family Fun Day, will be held on 20th August. With Rastamouse, Freddie Furlong and all sorts of fun and excitement for children including a large bouncy castle, soft play area with inflatable surround, unlimited candy floss stall, gladiator duel, circus workshop and a bungee run, what a great way to spend a sunny August afternoon. Adults also get to see the fantastic racing, so it's definitely a day to pop along with friends and family!

Finally, we end the summer months offering the perfect opportunity for ladies to dress in their poshest frocks, and for gents to polish their shoes! Ladies Evening 2012 will be the biggest and best yet! Ladies Evening is one of racing's greatest traditions and dressing up is very much the theme of the event. We have prizes for the best dressed lady, Best Hat and new for 2012, Best Shoes. With live music on the evening and also great racing, this event will be a great way to end the Summer. Tickets book fast so make sure you organise your parties to come along today!
