What a great time we have been having this month! With fantastic live entertainment and also a great few weeks of racing, October has certainly been a busy one.

On Friday and Saturday we are racing! Gates open on Friday at 3.40pm with the first race at 5.40pm. On Saturday, gates open at 3.50pm with the first race off at 5.50pm. We are also holding a fantastic party night in the Ringside restaurant. Dust off your dancing shoes for an evening of dining and dancing!

We still have some availability for our Christmas party nights, keep checking the website, or call 01902 390000 for further information.

If you are coming to the racing this weekend, bring a nice warm coat as its pretty miserable at the moment.

Have a great weekend!

Compton Hospice to Celebrate 30 Years At The Racecourse

Wolverhampton Racecourse is delighted to announce their partnership with Compton Hospice is going from strength to strength.

2012 sees Compton hospice celebrating 30 years of providing the best care to patients facing a life-limiting illness and their families, with an all 80’s experience evening at the racecourse! Having previously worked together for the Hospices 2011 Charity ball, the racecourse seemed the perfect choice to host another evening’s entertainment and fundraising.

Sally Woods, Community Fundraiser from Compton Hospice said “We are delighted to be working with the racecourse again. Our previous event that we held there was such a success, we felt there was no other venue in the area that could offer the type of service that the racecourse did”.

With its large 350 seat dining area, the racecourse offers a perfect venue for large party and dining experiences.

David Roberts Managing Director at the racecourse said “We are delighted to be working with the Compton Hospice team again. We believe in supporting local charities and we thank them for letting us be a part of their special anniversary”.

The event, to be held on Saturday the 18th February, will celebrate 30 years of the hospices great free of service work, to a catchment area of 1.3 million people. Communities across the Black Country, including Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire have benefited from the work they have done. Tickets are on sale now and are priced at £26.95, with all profits going to the Hospice.

To book your tickets, contact the hospice on 0845 2255497, or email -

Meetings Galore!

What a busy month we have ahead of us at Wolverhampton Racecourse. With a whopping 11 races (10 evening and 1 afternoon) and 4 live bands, we are extremely busy!

The meetings begin on Thursday the 6th, with races then on 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th and 31st! How do we fit them all in!

Although it has been particularly hot just recently, the weather doesn't really affect our racing. As we have an all weather track, we can race come rain or shine. The only difference it makes is to our visitors, if its cold and wet you'll need to wrap up that bit warmer, if its sunny and warm, bring abit more money for refreshing drinks!

The live music we have booked this morning is nothing short of fantastic. We have...(drum roll please)...The Upbeat Party Band on Saturday the 8th October, Re-Take That on Saturday 15th October,  The Bon Jovi experience on Saturday 22nd and finally a live party night on 29th October!

Prices for the racing start from just £10 for Grandstand entry, £15 for a party pack (minimum numbers of 6), or you could dine with us! The Ringside suite is just £29.95 for a carvery meal including the live entertainment. Competition Winners Enjoy A Great Evening!

Friday was the day that our lucky competition winner enjoyed a great evening in the Horizons restaurant. Aimee Woodsford from Wednesfield in Wolverhampton, brought along 4 lucky friends to share her fantastic win.

Aimee said "I saw all of the messages on the Wolverhampton Racecourse facebook page, and thought why don't I enter? I haven't been to the races before and I thought it would be a great chance for me and my friends to have a good old chat!".

The Horizons restaurant, with its panoramic views of the racecourse, seemed the perfect setting for our competition winners to celebrate! As part of the prize, Aimee and her friends also had the opportunity to present a prize to one of the winning horse owners for the evening.

We must say a big thank you for all the people who entered. It was great to see so many emails giving really good reasons for why you should be our winners. We try to run as many competitions and give-aways throughout the year, so please keep checking our Facebook page for the latest details.

If the Horizons restaurants views over the racecourse make you want to book now, don't hesitate to call us for booking information. The number is 01902 390029, or click on the link to book online http://www.wolverhampton-racecourse.co.uk/raceday/fixtures.html
