Racecourse giveaway!

The racecourse has been proud to sponsor Wayne Hennessey for the past few seasons, he has brought some of his own horses down to race here, and he has also had a couple of winners!

We were delighted to hear that Wayne finally had some cheer after being voted Wolves' Player of the Season at the Wolverhampton Wanderers end of season awards ceremony. The Wales international, who is currently nursing a ruptured cruciate ligament, topped the fans' poll of around 4,000 votes ahead of last year's winner Matt Jarvis and 11-goal top scorer Steven Fletcher, who also took the Players' Player of the Season award.

So thanks to Wayne, we have a signed Goal Keeper jersey. To be in with a chance of winning this top, all you have to do is Click Here and fill in your details, it's that easy! Winners will be picked at random from all entries.

The prize draw will run from Monday 14th May till Friday 18th May. Every person who enters will get one FREE racecourse Grandstand ticket to the fixture of your choice*.

*Excluding Family Fun Day, Ladies Day and Boxing Day.

In other news - We are just 3 months away from Family Fun Day 2012 at the racecourse, and that can mean only one thing, Rastamouse,  the skateboarding, ska-jammin', super cool-mouse, will be making personal appearances throughout the day, so don't forget to bring your camera! We cant wait, but happiest of all is Freddie Furlong!

With free entertainment including a large bouncy castle, soft play area with inflatable surround, unlimited candy floss stall, gladiator duel, circus workshop and a bungee run, what a great way to spend a sunny August afternoon.

Walk of the Black Country - The Racecourse Team are in Training

A crack team of walkers from Wolverhampton Racecourse will be tackling the 10 mile Walk of the Black Country. The 10 mile event, which is taking place on Sunday 10th of June, starts at Himley Park and Himley Hall Hotel, and finishes at the racecourse.

Michelle Sutton, Marie Adams and Ormila Dedi from the sales team at the racecourse, have been preparing for the event for months. Ormila Dedi, a walk veteran after taking part last year,  said “I’ve been practicing around the track and by walking to work every day! I’ve really felt the burn, but it’s all for a great cause”.

The team, dubbed Freddie’s Angels after the racecourse mascot, are relishing the challenge that the 10 mile walk brings. The event is in aid of Promise Dreams who are a registered children’s charity, dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of seriously ill and terminally ill children and their families. Money raised will go to children who are seriously or terminally ill to provide treatment, help and support for both them and their families. Having worked with Promise Dreams on previous fundraising events, Wolverhampton Racecourse is delighted to be working with them again!

If you would like to cheer Freddie Furlongs Angel’s across the line, why not pop along with friends and family. With food and refreshments available, we are hoping for another great event! Click Here to find out more!
