Horsing around for Walk of the Black Country.

Wolverhampton racecourse is tightening its laces for the forth coming Beacon Walk of the Black Country.

The Walk of the Black Country will take place on Sunday, 19th June 2011 at 10am, with the walkers starting at Himley Hall.

Wolverhampton Racecourse will be the finishing point for this year’s walkathon, and the team there will be greeting the competitors with a medal and refreshments.

Managing Director of Wolverhampton Racecourse David Roberts said “we are delighted to be involved with the Beacon Walk of the Black Country and it is really great that our on-site trainer Frank Sheridan and his team have been able to help us promote the event today. All of the staff are excited about the racecourse being the end destination for the walk and we look forward to welcoming all the fundraisers and their supporters to the racecourse on the day”

The Walkers will be raising money for Promise Dreams with a percentage of funds also going to the Dudley and Wolverhampton Mayoral charities. Promise Dreams is a registered children’s charity, dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of seriously ill and terminally ill children and their families. Money raised will go to children who are seriously or terminally ill to provide treatment, help and support for both them and their families.
