A crack team of walkers from Wolverhampton Racecourse will be tackling the 10 mile Walk of the Black Country. The 10 mile event, which is taking place on Sunday 10th of June, starts at Himley Park and Himley Hall Hotel, and finishes at the racecourse.
Michelle Sutton, Marie Adams and Ormila Dedi from the sales team at the racecourse, have been preparing for the event for months. Ormila Dedi, a walk veteran after taking part last year, said “I’ve been practicing around the track and by walking to work every day! I’ve really felt the burn, but it’s all for a great cause”.
The team, dubbed Freddie’s Angels after the racecourse mascot, are relishing the challenge that the 10 mile walk brings. The event is in aid of Promise Dreams who are a registered children’s charity, dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of seriously ill and terminally ill children and their families. Money raised will go to children who are seriously or terminally ill to provide treatment, help and support for both them and their families. Having worked with Promise Dreams on previous fundraising events, Wolverhampton Racecourse is delighted to be working with them again!
If you would like to cheer Freddie Furlongs Angel’s across the line, why not pop along with friends and family. With food and refreshments available, we are hoping for another great event! Click Here to find out more!
